Grand Prize (1):
- $500 (US) in cash

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Entries will be judged primarily on the originality of melody, rhythm, scoring and orchestral color as well as demonstrated ability and understanding of composition and orchestration in general.
RULES:
- Submissions must be accompanied by an official application and a $25 non-refundable entrance fee (Made out to "My Own Orchestra")
- Composers must be between the ages of 8 and 30, inclusive.
- Composers must submit original, unpublished works, between 3 and 10 minutes in length
- Scores may consist of any combination of instruments, up to the size of a symphony orchestra: 1 piccolo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 3 clarinets, 3 bassoons, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion, harp and strings. Electronic instruments are also acceptable. Instrumentals only (no vocals).
- Composers may not enter of they are currently signed with a record company
- Scores may be submitted in any one or more of the following formats:
- Printed or hand written.
- PDF, JPG or other image format
- MIDI, Sibelius or Finale file
- Recordings (mp3, CD) are ok but not mandatory. Please do not send parts unless requested.)
- If submitting in one of these formats, include a CD-R containing the file along with your official entry form
- The composer's name must be clearly visible on all pages of the score
- All entries must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2008
- When submitting via mail, composers must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of their materials. MyOwnOrchestra.net cannot br responsible for loss or damage of your score in shipping.
